Lets talk fights I watched this weekend and the stock rising in these young fighters. Cage Warriors brought the action. Everyone is quick to count a fighter out after a loss, but every fighter faces adversity at some point. A step up in competition usually will answer questions and whether you win or loss, you gain from it. So lets talk about Karine Silva and her recent loss to Viviane Araujo, and how it will affect her. While many don’t want give her credit for her performance, Silva did learn something from it so expect her to be back. Araujo on the other keeps her career afloat, and maybe due another solid ranked fight. Also Eduarda Moura getting a victory over Veronica Hardy shows there might be a new home for Moura. Lets discuss Miranda Maverick vs. Jamey-Lyn Horth, and the fights this weekend. Can Wang Cong impress against Gabriela Fernandes, can Tabatha Ricci get a win over a top strawweight in Yan Xiaonan? Manon Fiorot has been very vocal about her title fight that she feels Valentina Shevchenko is not showing interest in. So she has been speaking out more than normal and it is definitely amping up the WMMA world! UAE just crowned the inaugural womens’ strawweight champion in Jacinta Austin. Also on Ares FC, Jady Menezes was crowned flyweight champion.

LFA 195 delivered with all three womens’ fights including the return of Melissa Croden. 

Moving on down to this weekend for UFC Edmonton we have three flyweight fights on all levels that will answer some serious questions about the state of the next contender.

So I was a little pressed for time last night and didn’t have time for this discussion, so I’m back with another episode to discuss the once reigning division of WMMA; the straw weight division.
